Interested in the Medical Field?
Juniors and Seniors- Are you interested in the medical field? Dr. Karl von Tiehl from Bowtie Allergy is offering a number of internships through his office- possibly up to 12 (1-2 students per month). Over the past few years, he has welcomed everyone from high school juniors to post-graduate Allergy/Immunology fellows in his clinics, and he is eager to start having students in his clinic again. His current private practice allows him to have good one-on-one time with students interested in pursuing a career in medicine. If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your online application and resume to Ms. Mutia. Because of the ongoing nature of this internship, Ms. Mutia will follow up with interviews starting in early November and continue throughout the year. Students can submit for these internships at any time and will be considered for the following month. Due to healthcare regulations, he can only offer unpaid "shadowing" experiences to high school students. Typically, shadowing will involve a total of 1 or 2 half-day sessions. Clinic experiences will vary based on patients’ consent. Students would be required to sign a standard non-disclosure agreement (countersigned by their parent[s]), to be on-time and to dress professionally.

Kevin de Leon for U.S. Senate Campaign
The Kevin de León for U.S. Senate campaign is currently recruiting energetic and dedicated field interns on a voluntary basis to support their campaign. This is an awesome opportunity for those looking to get more involved in government through hands-on work on a statewide political campaign and bolster their resumes while fulfilling community service hour requirements and a letter of recommendation. Field interns will gain first-hand insight with an extremely scrappy and dynamic campaign. Responsibilities will include phone-banking, text-banking, data entry, and scheduling (*phones will be provided for text-banking). Students will work 3 hour shifts until the general election on November 6. Shifts will be hosted during the hours of 10:00 AM-9:00 PM MON-FRI & 10:00 AM-6:00 PM SAT & SUN. Volunteers will be required to work at least one shift per week and training for this program will be done online, so all students will need is a cell phone, a computer, and a positive attitude. Particularly enthusiastic students are welcome to join our team at our Koreatown office to participate in text-banking as well. We also want to encourage students who can’t commute to our office to organize amongst themselves and coordinate together to phone-bank on campus or at a location nearby. If interested and committed, please submit a resume and contact Michelle Bertinelli at [email protected] or (818) 694-2790 in addition to signing-up on the following link: http://signup.com/go/cfhjZDn.
